The character should be judged on the basis of morals and values. If one is capable enough to maintain this, he /she is a gentle person. Rest all is negligible.
I try not to define anyones character because I am mostly not aware of what life experiences taught them to be how they are today. I also don’t know from which kind of lense they are looking at life. But we all need to work on our manners no matter what happened to us. So I like people who have good manners and who are kind.
